The privacy model: your data is yours

By GTS Infosoft LLP · Updated June 2026

Short answer: Private document management means your files are encrypted and visible only to you and the people you choose — not to advertisers, and never mined for data. That's how ScanPix works today, and we're building toward protection where a key only you hold opens your documents.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

Every document is protected on its way to our servers and while it's stored — so a file is never sitting in the open. Encryption is the baseline, not the headline; it's what any serious workspace should do, and ScanPix does it for every page.

Private to your circle — never sold

Your documents are visible only to you and the people you explicitly share with. They are never sold or shared with advertisers, and ScanPix doesn't mine your content — our business is subscriptions, so you are the customer, not the product. Sharing is something you choose, document by document — see sharing & export and teams & permissions.

Where we're taking it: a key only you hold

We're building ScanPix toward a stricter standard than ordinary cloud storage: documents locked with a key tied to your account and held by you, so they can be unlocked only with your key — not by an attacker, and not by us. We hold ourselves to a simple rule about it: we don't claim it until it ships. Until then, what you read on this page is what's true today.

The honest trade-off that's coming

True key-only-you-hold privacy has a cost worth being upfront about now: once only you hold the key, your password becomes the key to your data, and a lost password would mean the data can't be recovered for you — because a model with no back door has no back door for anyone. When we roll this out, we'll explain exactly what changes for your account before it affects you.

Frequently asked questions

What is private document management?

Private document management means your files are encrypted and visible only to you and the people you choose — not to advertisers, and not mined for data. That is how ScanPix works today: encrypted in transit and at rest, access limited to you and the people you share with, never sold.

Can ScanPix employees read my documents?

Your documents are encrypted and access-controlled, we don't read or mine them, and no one at ScanPix looks at your content in the normal course of running the service. We're building toward a key-only-you-hold model where reading them would be technically impossible for anyone but you — and we don't claim that stronger guarantee until it ships.
