ScanPix
Security & privacy

Your data is yours.
Built so even we can't see it.

Your documents are private: encrypted in transit and at rest, and visible only to you and the people you choose. We don't read your documents, we don't show you ads, and we never sell your data.

Locked, wherever they are

Your files are scrambled and locked while they travel and while they're stored — unreadable to anyone but you.

Private by design

Encrypted in transit and at rest, visible only to you and the people you choose — and never read, mined or sold.

Seen only by your people

Your documents are visible only to you and the people you choose to share them with — no one else.

Never sold, no ads

We never sell your data or show you ads. You pay for the app, so you're the customer — not the product.

Where we're headed: a key only you hold

Think of your documents as kept in a locker, and your password as the only key. That is the standard we are building ScanPix toward: a locker that only your key opens — not an attacker's, and not ours. We hold ourselves to a simple rule: we don't claim it until it ships.

Here's the honest part: because you're the only one with the key, your password is what unlocks your documents. Keep it somewhere safe — if it's ever lost, no one (not even us) can open the locker for you. That's what real privacy means, and it's the point.

You stay in control: you can export or delete your documents anytime.
1You set a password — your key never leaves you
2Your documents get locked with your key
3Only you can unlock and read them

Security questions, answered

Can ScanPix see my documents?

Your documents are encrypted and access-controlled: visible only to you and the people you choose to share with, never sold or shared with advertisers, and never mined. We are building toward a key-only-you-hold model that would make reading them technically impossible for anyone but you — and we will not claim that stronger guarantee until it ships.

Are my documents safe?

Yes. Your documents are scrambled and locked both while they travel and while they're stored, so they can't be read by anyone but you.

What happens if I lose my password?

Today you can reset your password from the sign-in screen. When we roll out key-only-you-hold protection, recovery will work differently — because a model with no back door has no back door for anyone — and we will explain exactly what changes before it affects your account.
